Stress and anxiety triggers several physiological reactions in the body. These physical reactions cause release of hormones such as cortisols- a perfect recipe for acne. Stress and anxiety also triggers chemicals that make skin red and itchy. We should remember that hormones released by anxiety severely affect our most sensitive organ-SKIN.

Anxiety can cause your skin color change, atompic dermatitis, cystic acne, noncystic acne, tinea versicolor, pityriasis rosea. By now we should understand that as we come under stress, our skin’s repair mechanism starts compromising and studies have shown the dreadful evidence that stress and anxiety can speed up skin cancer. Psychodermatologists have suggested treatments such as meditation, acupuncture. Psychotherapy and massage that decrease the stress by soothing the skin are considered good treatments. It is proved that use of stress reduction techniques leads to better skin behavior. Other treatments include imaging, biofeedback, and hypnosis as one of the psychotherapist puts it that our bodies are more plugged into pictures that we have in our minds that what we see in reality.

The above discussion makes it clear that we can treat skin diseases related to anxiety with mind-body treatments.

The first problem for the sufferer of anxiety is that anxiety symptoms accentuate the feeling of any other symptoms and resultantly the sufferer becomes increasing self conscious that increase his or her anxiety level and leads to more anxiety and discomfort.

Though skin disorders caused by anxiety are rare but reports have it that anxiety give rise to liver dysfunctions that results in jaundice. Most of the skin problems caused by anxiety are fairly minor and they should not be taken as something for underlying skin problems.

The anxiety has the potential to make your skin color lighter. We all may have experienced this phenomenon of going Pale in anxiety attacks. The reason behind this state of becoming pale is that blood rushes towards heart and hence skin loses its natural pigmentation. This state of getting pale may occur across the whole body.

Anxiety does not get you pale it also gets you RED. You get redder or pinker across your face and head when anxiety comes in. This is the result of dilatation of blood capillaries in the face. As the blood capillaries dilate, blood rushes in to make your face redder.

Anxiety exacerbates several other skin disorders such as rosacea. Stress can get your rosacea outbreak resultantly you may get skin discoloration. All the skin disorders either are triggered by anxiety to get worsened with anxiety.
Remember skin disorders caused by anxiety are not of permanent nature and you may get your skin color back to normal as soon as the attack of anxiety ends.

The best of getting rid of skin disorders caused by anxiety is to get rid of anxiety first as skin also behaves in positive way when you get your normal position back. The best solution is to reduce and fight your anxiety.
Remember that mind-skin connection is one of the strongest and as you get your underlying psychological problem addressed your skin changes positively. Few of us may know the fact that skin and brain are developed from the same cells so they are very closely connected.

Being obese in children and kids has turned out a major problem nowadays, since amount of cases are raised in recent years - and continue to keep increase. In the US solely, numerous children experience childhood obesity. Being a parent, you have to be responsible concerning your own child's ought to have and routines. Below are some beneficial points to avoid obesity from getting any trouble in the future.

What Can We Do?

The formula for being successful is no distinct for children as it stands for mature people - applying a perfect health and fitness routine. We as parents have a job to keep supporting today’s youth (and ourselves) healthier and fit together and so we need to step up and grab charge. Following are few tips that might help:

1. Strength Training and Cardiovascular Training

Just like all sorts of physical exercise, muscle building as well as cardiovascular workout makes use of unhealthy calories. Muscle building is distinct, although for the reason that it actually can cut out unwanted body fat and also enhance muscular mass, thus boosting total body structure and improving overall look and overall performance. Muscle tissue takes much more calories to perform as compared to excess fat and hence, children with additional muscle mass tend to be more successful at making use of calories. Cardiovascular workout is also very important as it could make a s prolonged and vital usage of extra calories and boosts overall wellness and energy (each physically and mentally).

2. Proper Nutrition

childhood added weight, children's health and fitness, obese children, kids nutrition It’s standard that a parent would do the food items purchasing for your own home thus it’s beneficial to help make healthier, well balanced choices while foodstuff purchasing. It’s additionally familiar for the guardian to be the one to have the young children throughout the drive-thru windows, decide to buy them sugary junk food at the shop, and super-size their daily meals. It’s apparent, then, that your home atmosphere is the first place to set up the base for appropriate food intake. Having shortened veggies, fresh fruit, and most types of nuts, together with seed products available can certainly add for excellent snack food items while breakfast, lunch, and also evening meal may easily furnish them with the most of their body and mind building up nutrients.

3. Keep Water on Tap

A number of drinks are rich in unhealthy calories and also low in nutrients. Recommend water as the drinks of preference. Serve it with daily meals, putting in berries, orange pieces or cucumbers for a little taste. The flavor remains nourishing and calorie-free, nevertheless keeps children hydrated. Ask your babysitters this is a house rule -- that they might find it easier to find a juice box -- and grandparents -- who is known to offering soda with each and every visit.

4. Model and Motivate

Your children are usually observing you, Dr. Pont reminds us. Whenever parent or guardian does anything, it tells the kids that it must be really important. Do remember: Such things happen with decent habits and bad ones! Therefore, if you wish your children to be healthier, think what you could do to be healthier too. It's much simpler for your children to adopt your own words after they observe them supported with your routines. A cookie-eating sofa potato parent or guardian will find it difficult to influence their kids to snack on fresh fruit and play outside after school.

All of the above will assist obese kids stay healthy and will assist kids who sadly are troubled with their weight to get better. Think your skinny snacker doesn't need a change? It is unfortunate that, even nowadays healthy-weight children face a threat of getting overweight adults. Applying the above tips as a proper diet and lifestyle of course can help avoid future obesity problem for everybody.

It seems that our culture these days is really struggling with digestive problems. We have more and more people being diagnosed with irritable bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome. It's really a shame that people are suffering with digestive problems. Digestive problems really feel very personal because it's your stomach and your stomach is a place that is difficult to deal with in terms of pain. We usually think of pain in our arms and legs maybe our back but not usually in our stomach. What really worries me is that people have digestive problems and this causes them to not properly disgust their food.

When they are not properly digesting the food they eat this leads them to have huge health problem. We need to digest the nutrients in our food in order to have proper health. With most people when it comes to digestive problems they do the same thing and expect a different result. People continue to eat foods that irritate their digestive system. These foods are foods that contain additives, preservatives and other garbage. People eat foods that are void of nutrients like non organic produce. There consuming foods that are riddled with pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. People are eating the wrong ratios of foods. They're eating too many carbohydrates or too much protein per meal. People are barely if ever eating one or two meals a day. Some people only eat one meal a day. People need to be eating more frequently. There are so many things that people are doing that are leading them to digestive problems.

Many people in our culture have hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism basically means that you have a broken metabolism. Your thyroid is not running optimally and because of this you have many symptoms. You may be tired and have poor digestion. You may have brain fog or not feel not good. These are all signs of hypothyroidism. There are many other signs such as pain in your hands or trouble sleeping. When you have a broken metabolism your body is in a stress state and is breaking down muscle tissue to rise blood sugar to get glucose into your cells.

The body at this stage isn't producing adequate amounts of hydrochloric acid. Hydrochloric acid is necessary to digest your foods. This means that if you stimulate metabolism and get your thyroid running optimally. You will produce adequate amounts of stomach acid and start digesting your food. Many people talk about probiotics and digestive enzymes in order to help heal the digestive system. The problem with this though is that digestive enzymes are not necessary if you get metabolism to run properly. If the person's metabolism is running properly then they will secrete enough stomach acid to properly digest their food. Another problem is that probiotics can increase lactic acid. This is because lactobacillus is a lactate producing enzyme. This can actually cause more problems. For this reason I don't usually recommend people to supplement with probiotics.

Gelatin and broth have many things in them that can actually help heal the gut. This is why I recommend that people drink lots of broth throughout the day and consume gelatin. You can get gelatin from many sources. You get gelatin from oxtail, cow's feet and soup bones. Cows feet is your best source of gelatin. In terms of broth what you do is you put water preferably filtered water into a glass container with the bones inside. You then cook these bones for many hours until you start to see a brownish type color to the water.

You then drink this water because this water is actually broth. This is extremely good for you. Make sure that you drink broth with some fat and protein. Drinking a glass of milk with broth would be a good combination because broth contains some protein. If you want to get the gelatin out of the bones then you need to cook the bones at 350° for about three hours. Gelatin has more benefits than broth but one thing I like about broth is that you can use the bones for many weeks. Gelatin and broth are both excellent foods that help heal your digestive system. Who needs hydrochloric acid supplements when broth can actually help stimulate stomach acid production.

It's very upsetting to me that people go to their doctors with digestive problems and have no answers. People suffer for years with terrible pain in their stomach. People even just doing moderate changes in their diet in terms of cleaning up what they eat can greatly improve and reduce their digestive problems. You can look at things like carrageenan which is in many milk products now and blame a lot of digestive problems from this substance. A lot people say that they have problems with milk but it's not so much the milk but the carrageenan is synthetic A and vitamin D that is causing them to have digestive problems. It's also the crappy foods that the cows are eating which is non-organic grains that is causing milk to have so many problems for people. If you get pasteurized milk that is from grass fed cows this can help facilitate gut healing. This is because milk has many benefits. It's low in it's ability to make endotoxin. Endotoxin causes lots of digestive problems. It has a large amounts of vitamin A and cholesterol which is very important for fueling thyroid function. It contains many important vitamins and minerals that are essential for thyroid function. Example of this would be vitamin C. You need vitamin C to convert T-3 to T-4.

Raw honey is a food is that is actually quite good for digestion. This is because it has antibacterial and antifungal property's. Raw honey is also excellent for stimulating metabolism. This is due to its fructose content. I know many people that have introduced raw honey into their meals and find that they can handle their meal much better afterwards. They have a lot less bloating and cramping.

Cold water is rough on the athlete. It gets into everything and pulls the heat right out of you. There is little less pleasant than running in wet shoes, and nothing much more shocking to the system than plunging into an ice cold pool. Whether you're championship swimming or mud running, here is a helpful guide to ways to keep warm in cold water.

Invest In The Proper Equipment

There is a lot of physics and chemistry that goes into keeping your body in peak performance. Athletics require balance, power, precision, and heat regulation. Cold water has powerful effects on a heat-generating body. It cools things down, and quickly. This is great for overheating, sweating bodies. But cold water will eventually pull all the heat out of any system. No human being generates enough heat to warm even a small body of water that is below blood temperature. The thermal inertia of water is simply too great. For prolonged swimming in cold water, there is no choice but to invest in a wetsuit. A cap, boots, and gloves are also important. This is not just essential for health, but for enjoyment. When body parts get too cold, they tend to lock up. It is very difficult to swim when you cannot pull your fingers together. It takes all the fun out of it.

Swim Harder

One of the best ways to stay warm is to work harder. Even if you cannot feel yourself sweating, you are still generating more heat when you swim faster. The friction from cutting through the water does not make up for the heat loss from the liquid flowing by, so you will still cool down in cool water. Moreover, it is essential to pace yourself when you are swimming harder to keep warm. You are not buying yourself very much time, because if you stop and tread water you are going to cool down quickly. Make sure you do not cramp up or strand yourself far out in the water. This is especially important in open water and the sea. Always pace yourself when you are dealing with a cold ocean like the Pacific.

Concentrate On Your Breathing

Make sure you work on your exhale. The body's natural response when it hits cold water is to inhale, so the shock reflex is lessened with a complete exhalation. Most of the nerves in your body go numb very quickly when you are plunged into cold water. However, your face is hypersensitive, and it will get cold very quickly if you are swimming face-down. Make sure that you raise your head often, or swim on your back, in order to keep the cold at bay. Once your face is adapted to the cold, you may also want to blow bubbles with your mouth. It sounds silly, but it works. It distracts the mind and focuses attention on the exhalation, which is helpful.

Stay Safe

Remember, hypothermia is no joke. Do not over-exert yourself, and if you are swimming far out in open water, make sure to have a friend with a boat nearby to keep an eye on you.

Derek often likes to blog about fitness and health. Whenever he is not blogging or working, he enjoys participating in mud runs or other obstacle related runs. The article above is for mud running.

Water is often a hot topic when it comes to losing weight, purifying your body or combating illnesses. However, it is rather worrying when people proudly announce that they are having eight to ten glasses of water a day, which one must presume is in addition to all the other forms of liquid they ingest.

Let us discuss the highly contentious question, how much water should you consume?

In order to understand how much water you need to consume, you first need to understand your body and why you need water. The average human body consists of seventy-two percent water. We do not lose all the water in our bodies on a daily basis, because our body is designed to maintain a balance between water and minerals in our blood and other body fluids.

How do we lose water?
There are three ways to lose the water in your body: sweating, through the lungs, and by excretion of urine and faeces.

How do we take water in?
Our main source of liquid is through a variety of beverages we drink: water, tea and coffee, fruit juice, energy drinks and even beer. What most people tend to forget though is that in addition to drinking water, we consume it in our foods.  Most fruits and vegetables contain of between seventy and ninety percent water. Furthermore, our bodies produce water via our metabolism. This water breaks down foods and allows the body to ingest the minerals and vitamins within the food.

There are four things you need to consider when calculating how much water you need to drink:

  • The Climate
  • Physical Exertion
  • Medical Conditions
  • Slimming

Number One – The Climate

It is logical that the hotter and drier the climate, the more water we will lose by sweating, and the most liquid we will need to ingest. This is particularly true for countries like South Africa and Australia in the summer months. However, in the mid-winter when it is cold in most countries, our need for water reduces. In order to remain hydrated, ensure that you adjust your drinking habits to the temperature – more when it is hot, less when it is cold.

Number Two – Physical Exertion

The more you exercise the more water you need. In fact, for every thirty minutes that you do physical work – gym or manual labour – you need to drink two hundred and fifty to three hundred millilitres of water. Remember if you work in an office environment; do not overdo your consumption.

Number Three – Medical Conditions

If you have a fever, you should increase your liquid intake, particularly in vitamin C rich fruit juices. When suffering from diarrhoea or vomiting, you need to replace the water and mineral salts you have lost – drink black tea or an energy drink. Patients suffering from gout, liver problems or kidney stones should also increase their water intake, to ensure the body is cleansed of all waste.

Number Four – Slimming

Looking to keep hunger pangs away and lose the extra few kilograms that you are carrying? Drinking water will help fool the mind into thinking it is full and therefore, reducing your craving for food. Furthermore, drink two hundred to three hundred millilitres of water before each meal as it will help you eat less at the meal.

In conclusion, your body needs water to function properly. A dehydrated body will leave you feeling with a headache and feeling lethargic. A quick test is to check the colour of your urine: light/clear colouring is a hydrated body, while the darker it is, the more dehydrated your body is.

If you’re contemplating quitting smoking, you are probably well aware of the health benefits already – reduced risk of various cancers, lung disease, heart disease and stroke – but did you know that it is also a good way to help you achieve six pack abs? The chemicals found in cigarette smoke that are detrimental to health also impair your body’s ability to build muscle. Read on to find out more about how stopping smoking could be one of the key steps to help you achieve the six pack you have always wanted.

Quit Smoking

You need to breathe easy

Shortness of breath is characteristic of smokers, particularly on exercise, which is the time when you need to be able to rely on good lung function the most. It doesn’t just reduce your ability to take in sufficient oxygen, but it limits how long and how hard you can train – both essential determinants for your journey to a six pack. However, quit smoking and after three days free from the cigarettes, breathing will start to become easier and over the coming weeks and months, so too will training.

Muscles need oxygen

It’s well known that smoking reduces oxygen levels in the body, but how does this happen and how does this relate to working out? Haemoglobin – the blood’s carrier for oxygen – is attracted to carbon-monoxide in cigarette smoke more strongly than it does to oxygen. Not only this, but the coating of tar on the lungs reduces the elastic-nature of the air sacs, so the passage of oxygen from the lungs to the blood is also affected by this mechanism. This means less oxygen is absorbed from the lungs into the blood, so there is less oxygen carried around the body. All tissues, including muscle, require oxygen to respire – the process that allows them to release energy, which is essential for them to function and is increased during exercise and activity – so less oxygen is able to be absorbed by the muscles for this to occur. When respiration is affected, so too is performance; muscles are unable to contract so effectively, which impairs your ability to work out. It reaches a stage where your muscle cells receive so little oxygen that they are forced to respire anaerobically, the by-product of which is lactic acid and when this builds up, you are forced to stop whatever activity it is that you are engaged in. In short you are not able to train for as long or at such a high intensity as would be required to develop a good six pack. However, stop smoking and within a day oxygen levels in the blood will have returned to normal; keep this up and your ability to train will be much enhanced.

A good blood supply is vital

Smoking can reduce blood flow in two ways. Firstly, due to the deposit of plaques on the walls of arteries, this causes them to narrow. Then secondly, your heart rate is increased when you smoke, causing your blood pressure to rise and consequently there is decreased blood flow. Your circulation carries blood everywhere in your body, not just providing your cells with oxygen, but providing nutrients, hormones and growth factors to where they are needed. The provision of muscle cells with glucose is essential for respiration, but they also require vitamins, minerals and growth factors for growth, repair and to maintain optimal health. Without a good supply of these, as happens when you smoke, your muscles are not able to function and grow to their full potential. However, the good news is that within 12 weeks of being smoke free your circulation will have begun to improve and you will start to see this in your training.

Many people worry about the potential weight gain that can occur once they kick the habit – usually due to the combination of a return of appetite with an improvement in taste and smell, a reduction in metabolism and reaching for nibbles to stave off cravings for cigarettes – but working out significantly reduces the chance of this happening. Exercise not only maintains your metabolism and keeps your mind off food, but it can also help to boost your mood and keep you focused on your aim; you won’t be reaching for the cigarettes again.

Obesity increases the risk of pancreatic cancer, according to a new report by the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF). A healthy weight and not smoking reduces the risk of this cancer. In the Netherlands the disease annually by over 2,100 people discovered. The five year survival rate for this disease is on average around 4%.

The report is based on new findings from the Continuous Update Project. The scientific evidence for a link between obesity and pancreatic cancer is stronger than ever.

There are several ways in which excess body fat may affect cancer risk. Body fat affects the hormones in our body. Fat produces hormones that may accelerate the cancer process.

Obesity can also lead to inflammation, which can stimulate cell division. Faster cell division increases the risk of developing cancer.

According the latest data from the Continuous Update Project around 42% of Dutch people were considered overweight and 10% were categorized as obese in 2011. From this data about 46% of mean were overweight and 37% of women were overweight as well.

Professor Alan Jackson, chairman of the panel of scientific experts of the Continuous Update Project and Professor of Human Nutrition at the University of Southampton said, "This new report confirms that there is a strong link between obesity and pancreatic cancer."

"Pancreatic cancer is usually detected late, thus causing the low survival rate of this cancer. The good news from the report is that we can reduce risk of this disease by maintaining a healthy weight and not smoking. "

More Cases of Cancer Due to Obesity

Every year, an average of nineteen hundred people living in England develops cancer as a result of obesity. This is evident from recent study by the World Cancer Research Fund. That is a whopping 50% increase compared to the results of the same study performed one year earlier. The cause of this increase of cancer diagnosis is that the number of overweight people is still rising.

Obesity increases the risk of cancer by 17%. By excess body fat absorbs the production of the hormone estrogen and insulin and may contribute to the development of, for example breast cancer, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer and uterine cancer.

The World Cancer Research Fund was shocked by the figures and called for action to proceed. Adults should be warned that it is important to maintain a healthy weight, which is a Body Mass Index of around 18.6 and 24.9. But again this also depends on other factors such as your height and race.

Scientists guess that around one third of the most usual cancers can be prevented by maintaining a healthy weight and exercise enough.

This study again concludes that obesity and weight gain has various adverse effects to your health. Routine exercise and a healthy diet is the best solution to overcome this. Plus you can receive more information about this matter from experts such as clinical nutritionists and physicians.

Partially or completely losing your eyesight can lead to a drastically affected lifestyle.  In all likelihood you will have to give up work for at least a short amount of time and your day to day living is going to suffer.  The injustice of having your sight robbed by the carelessness of somebody else leads to hundreds of personal injury claims a year for those who suffer from such an unfortunate circumstance.  Whilst it’s not something people think about in their day to day lives, we can exercise an awareness to lessen the chances of a disaster.

Causes

There are a number of ways in which we can have our eyesight damaged and the least common type is a blow to the eye.  Your natural defence mechanism as a human is to close your eyes and to throw your arms up to protect your face when you’re expecting a blow or collision and this is normally enough to ward off the danger.

Far more common is a foreign body causing the damage.  This can include chemicals and harmful liquids which is more of a risk than people think.  The lack of proper protection in labs and dangerous environments is a leading cause of this problem, but even seemingly innocent liquids like household cleaning products and beauty items can cause permanent impairment.

Foreign bodies also come in the form of debris, grit, sand and dirt.  Those working on construction sites and with grinding materials should always be wearing solid eye protection, as shrapnel and flying objects can easily become lodged in the eye.  The scratching of the cornea is the danger here, as your eyeball becomes unprotected and open to infection.

One of the more infrequent but just as dangerous causes of sight impairment can involve no contact with the eye whatsoever.  Head injuries can manifest themselves as problems elsewhere in the body if nerves and brain cells/stems suffer harm.  The severing or damage of nerves linked to the eyes can permanently destroy somebody’s sight, whilst their eyes are perfectly healthy.

Personal Injury Claims

Along with paralysis and brain damage, damaged eyesight is one of the big pay outs in the personal injury business.     The impact that the loss of eyesight can have on your lifestyle is significant, from interrupting your social confidence to completely inhibiting your ability to work and earn money for yourself.  Personal injury lawyers and the courts are sympathetic toward this and as a result, the average pay out of eyesight related claims can be much higher than less severe injuries.

Ears—they sure are funny looking, as the mouse once said to Dumbo.  We never really think about our ears unless they are in excruciating pain.  After all, we don’t really think about how we hear, nor do we feel our ears in action.  Nonetheless, when something does go wrong and an ear problem occurs, it can cause quite the panic.  And all the more so if your child is in pain!

Common Problems with the Ear

It may help to consider the most commonly occurring ear problems.  Before we review these conditions, first understand that there are three parts to an ear: outer ear, middle ear and inner ear.  Whenever there is an obstruction or interference with the process the pain can be intense and the other issues (involving balance and perception) can be scary.

The most common problem affecting ears is that of a viral infection.  Some viruses can even cause hearing loss, namely, mumps, chickenpox, influenza and measles.  These infections start off in the bloodstream and eventually reach the ears, where they will damage nerve endings.  Infections often affect the middle ear and will result in the clogging of the ear with mucus and ear fluid—this will directly influence hearing and influence balance for the worst.

The good news is that most ear infections will go away naturally, though the pain will be intense.  It is best to see a doctor so that you can rule out serious conditions and perhaps bring home a pain reliever to the young one.  At worst, a serious infection may require antibiotics, or in some cases, minor surgery.

Critical Conditions

It is better to consult a doctor so that you can eliminate critical conditions such as Labyrinthitis, which is inner ear inflammation, and directly related to respiratory sickness and or bacterial infection.  Antibiotics may be necessary if bacterial infection has occurred.  Acoustic neuroma refers to a non-cancerous tumor that can be dangerous (benign though it is) since it can put a great deal of pressure on your brain.

One of the final inner ear problems is Meniere's disease, which is an inner ear disorder that affects balance and hearing.  This condition can occur suddenly, and in no particular pattern; perhaps once a year or every day.  The main symptoms are dizziness, nausea, and hearing loss.

Presbycusis is a unique problem because of its demographic; it is mainly a condition endured by seniors who are experiencing gradual hearing loss over time.  This results because hair cells in your cochlea are dying off.  These cells are directly responsible for processing sounds.  In addition, nerves that are responsible for sending messages to the brain will become slower as age sets in.

Presbycusis is the most likely cause of a relative’s poor hearing condition, and can be treated by using cochlear implants, hearing aids, as well as natural strategy in order to hear to a greater degree.  Most hearing difficulty results because of a lot of background noise, and not looking directly at the person who is speaking.  It is important to note that Presbycusis is not a surgically treatable condition at this time.

Last but not least, don’t forget balance problems, with symptoms of lightheadedness, dizziness or even room spinning.  These symptoms could be indicative of an inner ear disorder or even point to a more serious problem, such as a head injury, a stroke or a blood circulation issue.

The best thing to do is to ask an ENT doctor about your issues and come in for a regular routine checkup.  This can ensure that you treat problems as soon or before they occur, and that you get the medical attention you need immediately upon diagnosis.

For many men there are an array of excuses they will use to justify why they don’t work out or keep themselves in the shape that they perhaps should. Time is often cited as one of the primary reasons – as men become adults, their job will necessitate they don’t have as much free time as they did whilst they were students, and starting a family will similarly mean that any free time that becomes available is no longer exclusively their own. Cost is another excuse as men will often say they don’t have the spare cash to join a gym or buy exercise equipment for the home. Thankfully, it is actually easy to circumnavigate both of these problems by simply putting aside fifteen minutes every two days – something as simple as not pressing snooze on your alarm should cover it!

The following exercises require only appropriate clothing, a pair of trainers and a pair of lightweight dumbbells to do and focus or improving tone across a number of muscle groups, primarily the core and abs, including those that are often neglected by men who think a workout simply entails lifting heavy weights to focus on the biceps and triceps.  It is suggested also that beginners should do each of these four exercises for fifteen reps and a day should be taken off in between doing sets of these. Those who work out more often can increase the intensity by adding additional sets and reps to their regime.

The first exercise in the routine is called the squat press and can be challenging for beginners. The exercise begins with the individual stood upright with the back and spine kept as straight as possible, with feet placed roughly as wide apart as the shoulders. Whilst holding a dumbbell at both ends in front of your chest, the next step is to begin to bend the legs until the thighs become parallel with the floor; it is important here that the back is kept straight and, upon reaching squatting position, the straight back posture must be maintained so as to avoid injury. From here, slowly push the dumbbell out from your chest and then upwards until it is held aloft above your head. After a brief moment holding this position, begin to return the dumbbell back to the space in front of your chest and then straighten the legs until you are stood back in an upright position. Repeat this for fifteen steps to begin with but feel free to add extra reps and sets once you are used to this.

The second, and potentially more difficult, exercise is a modified version of the classic press-up and begins with the exerciser in the same position as a traditional push-up. Hold the abs tight and keep the back straight whilst in this position and lift one leg off of the floor so it is roughly in a straight line with your back. This is the new position to conduct push-ups in; with the body’s weight distributed over three points rather than four which, in turn, increases the intensity and hardship to a large degree. Once fifteen reps have been done with one leg in the air, swap which leg is held off the ground and complete fifteen more reps.

Lunging with a lateral rise is the third exercise and is pretty self-explanatory. This requires the exerciser to hold both of their dumbbells in his hands and begins in a standing position. From here, take one step forward whilst keeping the hind leg still. With the weights kept by your side, dip your front leg so that the thigh is parallel to the ground, and bend your hind legs knees so that your shin dips towards the ground. From this position, lift the dumbbells upwards so that both of your arms run parallel to each other in a straight line across the shoulder and hold this position for a few seconds. After returning to the starting position, conduct another fourteen repetitions of this on the same leading foot and then repeat the exercise by swapping which of your legs is to become the trailing leg.

The final exercise, perhaps the most difficult, is called the single leg bent over-row; it will again require both dumbbells, this time held in an underhand fashion. Lifting one leg off the floor, bend the other one at the knee and hold this position. Once balance has been established, bend forward at the hips so that the torso becomes as straight as possible with the weights close to your ankles. From here, begun to pull the dumbbells back towards your chest; this should cause the shoulder blades to pull together. After this, return to the starting position and repeat this fifteen times.

The choice of first aid kits available on the market today is vast but there are a few basic requirements for a first aid kit and many of these can be found at home already.
To create your own first aid kit, all you need to do is think about where you will be keeping the kit (in the house, in the car, in your suitcase) and think about what kinds of risks you may encounter in each situation and what type of treatment may be necessary.
The first step is to find a waterproof container such as a clean ice cream carton, plastic sweet container or plastic cantilever tool box. The kit needs to be lightweight and portable. Remember, this kit should contain a collection of items which would be immediately useful in the event of an accident or emergency.

Check whether anyone in your family has any allergy to latex (in this event use non-latex gloves) or plasters.
For the home
If there are children in the home, you would be best advised to find a lockable storage box to keep the kit in. Keep all medicine separately in a lockable cabinet. Consider the types of risks in the home and garden, including burns, falls, cuts and bruises. Statistically, the best place to keep your first aid kit is in your kitchen, considering the potential for accidents in this area.
o    1 x pair of small scissors
o    A few safety pins
o    Box of assorted plasters (plastic or fabric)
o    A roll of sticky medical tape
o    Tweezers
o    An eye bath or sterile eye wash capsules
o    Gauze pads
o    Cling film (to use as a burns dressing)
o    Clean cotton handkerchiefs
o    Non-alcohol wipes
In the car
For this situation, you are considering the risk of incidents and accidents involving yourself, your passengers or possibly even other car users.
o    A selection of the above
o    Medical gloves
o    Medicated hand wipes
o    A bottle of water
o    A blanket
o    A torch
In your suitcase
You can keep your travel kit packed in your suitcase, ready for your next trip. If you are travelling by air, remember not to take your kit in hand luggage. Due to security measures at most airports, it will not be allowed on board.
o    Assorted plasters
o    Scissors
o    Safety pins
o    Tweezers
o    Bite and sting relief
o    Anti-insect spray
o    Antihistamines
o    Aspirin
o    Immodium tablets
o    Antiseptic wipes
o    Cold sore cream
o    Clove oil (for toothache)
Don't forget to keep some basic first aid instructions in your kit - a simple guide to administering CPR, dealing with choking, stroke and heart attack for example.
Remember to keep your first aid kit topped up and check the expiration dates on medicine and bandages (yes they do have a useful shelf life).
Your first aid kits needn't cost the earth and just a few essentials may make all the difference in an emergency situation.

Mattress shopping can be tricky, and it isn’t uncommon for a good night’s sleep to set you back at least $500. However, there are things you can do to ensure you get a comfortable, sturdy item that will last for years.
Here are five tips that should help you find the best possible mattress.

1) Try Before You Buy
Although it may seem silly, it’s a good idea to lie down on a mattress in the store for 10-15 minutes if you can. This actually gives you an accurate feel for the comfort level of the product.
Even if you feel self-conscious or the salespeople are trying to speed up the process, keep in mind that you want to be comfortable while you sleep and that these items are typically big investments.

2) Shop at Specialty Mattress Stores
Even though many big department stores carry beds and bedding, it is actually a better idea to get your item at a store that specializes in mattresses and beds. This is because there is more of a chance that the salesmen and women will know what they are talking about when it comes to comparing brands and the feel of each bed.

You also should try to shop at a store that carries several well-known brands of mattress. Simmons, Tempurpedic, Sealy and Serta are some of the larger companies. A variety of products and brands gives you more choices in terms of both comfort and price range.

3) Do Your Best to Protect It
When you do have a good sleeping surface, keep it clean. It can be a good idea to get mattress protectors that are waterproof so your item doesn’t get stained. Some people opt for pads that protect from wear and tear, too.

4) Be Aware of Warranties
Warranties are a good thing, because they protect you against manufacturing defects. Look for a 10-year non-prorated/full warranty.

5) Make Sure You Can Get a “Comfort” Guarantee
Another thing that you absolutely want to get is a comfort or money back guarantee from the store itself. It’s important to make sure you can try a mattress out for 30 days or so before deciding if you want to keep it. Understand the details before setting down any money.

If you are thinking about purchasing a memory foam mattress, go online now to learn more about the best deals and different options available.

George gets lost in his writing especially when it has to do with comfort. So are you looking for more information regarding the memory foam mattress.

Just like any other form of workout, bodybuilding fat loss techniques will require some form of discipline with regards to eating. There will be a diet or food intake regimen requirement. After all, better results are guaranteed if you combine a great deal of workout with a healthy eating habit.
The thing you need to remember about bodybuilding, though, is that your ultimate goal is to build muscle. Building muscles will eventually help deplete fat and increase your metabolism. And if you want immediate results, you want to build muscles fast. And to build muscles fast, you need food that’ll aid you with that.
Eating enough muscle-building food is a must, especially if you’re more of the skinny type and a beginner. Generally speaking, you must mind your caloric intake because muscles need calories for maintenance. The difference however will be on your body type. If you’re skinnier than most, your caloric intake must be around 19 calories per pound of your body weight. For those with average built, your caloric intake must fall between 12 to 14 calories per pound of your body weight.

Don’t confuse increasing caloric intake to bingeing on food. Doing so will more likely make you obese than muscular. Yes, you need to eat enough calories, but make sure that you eat the right kind. These are basically highly nutritious food that aid in promoting muscle increase and not storing fat. Great examples would be a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, steak and vegetables for lunch, and a lean chicken meal for dinner. Choose a combination of foods that will give you the calorie content you need but at the same time, provide you with enough fiber for good digestion. In other words, combine protein rich food with fibrous carbs.

It’s not only what goes into your mouth that you need to think about when you want to gain muscles. You also need to mind your eating schedule or routine. Remember – to be a successful bodybuilding fat loss enthusiast, your muscles must have enough source of sustenance. That means you can’t skip meals. In fact, you need to eat every 2 to 3 hours to keep your body in an ideal muscle-building condition. Aside from that, you need to know when you need to adjust your meal amount to prepare your body for maximum workout. Breakfast, for instance, is the most important meal of the day. It’s therefore more effective if you slightly modify your breakfast meal amount to prep your body and muscles for a day’s workout.

Aside from food, there’s one other thing in your diet you need to remember – water. Drinking water helps flush out body waste more effectively, like excess salt which can cause fluid retention and bloating. For optimal fat loss and muscle increase, you need to hydrate your body properly.

Bodybuilding fat loss workout is no doubt an effective means to shed unwanted the fats, but it’s not enough that you’re regularly at the gym. Your eating habit and diet will play a major role as well. It’s therefore important to eat right for optimal results. Image source: www.image.google.com

Do you do pushups? They are a great exercise. From a basic standpoint it is one of the simplest exercises to have in your toolbox because it can be done anywhere and hits the chest, shoulders, and triceps with a little of the core and back involved. But just because you have access to a gym that has benches, barbells, and machines doesn't mean that the pushup should be forgotten.

The pushup is a great explosive and endurance exercise. Plus there are a lot of ways you can do it. Let's look at the variety of options.

Pushup Options

  • Standard - You assume the age-old position and slowly lower your body until you are kissing the floor and then push hard back to a straight-arm position. It is a great upper body exercise.
  • Leg Kick Pushup - This is just like a standard pushup but at the bottom you kick a leg out to the side as far as it will go and then back before pushing back up. This adds an element of balance and control for the upper body and works your hip flexibility.
  • Knee Pushups - You start in a normal pushup position. Then you drive your right knee towards your left elbow. Pause, and then move that leg back to the starting position and go down and up for a pushup. Next repeat the motion with the opposite leg to the other elbow. This adds abs and the hip flexors to the movement.
  • Corkscrew Pushup - Assume a normal starting position and then bend your knees and hop your feet forward once. Start to lower your upper body down while your twist your knees and hips to the left so the left side of your thigh gets parallel to the ground. Push back up and bring your knees to the middle. When you go down again it will be to the right. This adds a lot of leg work and hips.
  • Side-to-Side Pushup - Start in the normal position but when you go down angle to the right as far as you can and then come back up. For the next rep, go down to the left. This puts more stress on each arm one at a time.
  • Climbing Pushup - Start in a normal pushup position. Move your right hand forward 6 to 8 inches then move your left hand back the same amount. Lift your left foot off the ground and about 6 to 8 inches up. Now do half your pushups like this then switch hand and foot positions. This will work connecting muscles and your core.
  • T-Pushups - Start in a normal pushup position with your feet slightly wider apart. Go down and when you come back up take your right hand off the ground, twist your right shoulder towards the sky and point your right arm straight up. You hips will shift as well. Then return your hand and go back down, raising your left hand the next time you come up. These add an additional dimension to core and shoulder work.

Adding them In

You can include one or more of these great exercises to your chest workout. They make great transitions at the end of a routine into abdominal or core work. You can also use more than one and just design a routine around 'Pushup Day' that involves abdominal work. These bodyweight type exercises are great for endurance as well as teaching balance.
